Yoga combines a series of postures called asanas with breathing exercises and it is a phenomenal tool for lengthening and strengthening muscles to help restore alignment and function within the body. Yoga, like massage allows the practitioner to better acquaint themself with their body and establish some control over the constant chatter in their brain.
Maggie has practiced yoga since 2007, and in 2014, after resigning from a teaching position within the NYC Department of Education, it was only natural that she combine her passion for yoga and teaching with her knowledge and experience as a massage therapist by pursuing a new path as a yoga teacher. She received her 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Certification from The Yoga Room in Astoria, Queens in December of 2014 and has since completed the Yoga Tune-Up method curriculum.
Private yoga sessions are a good option for individuals seeking the benefits of yoga but lack the time for a studio class, who would like an introduction to yoga before going to a group class, or are looking for specific focus on their form.
